FULTON COUNTY TRANSIT AUTHORITY INITIATES INCLEMENT WEATHER SCHEDULE

Because of frigid temperatures, wind chills expected to drop below zero and a predicted wintry mix moving into the local area, Fulton County Transit Authority's Management team has decided to move to an Inclement Weather Schedule beginning at 2 p.m. Thurs., Dec. 22. This schedule means only life sustaining trips will be made after the 2 p.m. cutoff Dec. 22. These trips include dialysis, wound care and other cancer treatments which are deemed necessary for clients' well being. Demand Response rides will be offered from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 22 and after that, will not run again for demand response until Tues., Dec. 27. Riders in FCTA vehicles sholud be alerted that extreme cold may result in the heaters unable to keep buses as warm as needed, with opening doors frequently to for passengers to enter and exit the vehicle so passengers should dress warmly, in heavy layers.
