NEW TWIN CITIES' CHAMBER OF COMMERCE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR NAMED

Following a meeting of the Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Dec. 29, Lauren Waycaster of South Fulton was offered, and accepted the position of Executive Director of the Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce, serving the cities of Fulton, Ky. and South Fulton, Tenn.

Waycaster, who is married to Twin Cities native Michael Waycaster, attended Obion County Central High School, and later graduated from Northside High School in 2004.

She attended Union University in Jackson, Tenn. from 2005 - 2009 on an academic scholarship, where she earned her Bachelors Degree, with a Major in Biology and Chemistry and a Minor in Math.

Waycaster attended Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Newbern, Tenn. from August 2014 through May 2015, where she studied Practical Nursing and from January 2017 to present, she has worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Adoration Home Health.

Her previous work experience has been gained from serving as a restaurant Manager where her duties included catering, payroll, employee education and management, bar management, marketing, and events supervisor.

In her resume, and during her interview, Waycaster credits her previous experience in planning, organizing, strategizing, and implementing an initiative, strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to perform a wide range of duties in a fast paced environment, as traits beneficial to her new position.

Waycaster believes she will be able to bring to her role as Chamber Executive Director, the ability to consider and evaluate multiple opinions and ideas, as well as navigate conflicts without alienating members.

During the review of resumes received as well as the interview and hiring process, board members considered Waycaster's knowledge of social media and information technology, professional written and oral communication skills and her experience in coordinating events of various sizes, as assets for the Chamber.
