COPING AND CALM AT CARR
January 09, 2023

Students in grades K-5 at Fulton Independent's Carr Elementary were irecently ntroduced to coping skills by Cayce Batts, Carr Elementary School Social Worker in her SEL class. Students began exploring various skills they can use when upset or frustrated, such as deep breathing. Ms. Charity’s 2nd grade class enjoyed practicing breathing in through their nose, holding their breath for a count of three, and exhaling long and slow while blowing bubbles. One student said, “I feel happy and calm now!" The program is part of a four-week series supporting students to identify and practice emotional regulation. (Photo submitted.)
