AREA OBITUARIES -- HOWARD HARRIS

Mr. Howard Harris of Dukedom, Tenn. passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on August 4, 1925 in Weakley County, Tenn. to the late Dan Harris and Mae Ledbetter Harris.

Howard was a retired postmaster, a member of New Salem Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a veteran of the United States Marines, where he served in World War II and was a Mason.
He had lived in the area all of his life.

He is survived by his sons; Kenneth Harris and Glen Harris, both of Dukedom, Tenn., a sister; Martha

Clarke of Jackson, Tenn.., seven grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Howard is preceded in death by his wife, Marion Webb Harris, his parents, a son, Mark Harris and three

sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16 at Jackson Funeral Home of Dukedom, Tenn. with burial to follow at Acree Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Jackson Funeral Home Sunday, Jan. 15 from 4 p.m. until 7

p.m. and Monday, Jan. 16, from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
