Banana Festival Rotary Car Show winners announced

Winners for this year’s Fulton-South Fulton Rotary Club-Banana Festival Car Show have been announced, with awards presented at the band stand, on Lake Street in Fulton Sept. 17.

A special award was presented by Kenny Mayo, past longtime Car Show Chairperson for the Rotary Club Car Show, to recognize and honor the late Nick Rice, who contributed his services, and entered the car show for many years.

Rice’s wife, Virginia and sons, Clark and Nolan were presented with the special engraved trophy to memorialize his contributions. Another special trophy making its debut for this year’s Car Show, the Nick Rice Best of Show Award, was presented to G.B. Rice, the father of Nick Rice, for his entry.

Other winners listed included Best Tractor, Bart Workman; Best Rat Rod, David Shuggs; Best Anything Goes, Larry Burcham; Best Under Construction, Blake Truett; Rotary’s Choice, Brent Vaughan; Best Custom Truck, Amelia Brown; Best Stock Truck, Bobby Joe Hobbs; Best Custom Bike, Sam Daily; Best Stock Bike, Irvin Stroud; Mayor’s Choice, Kathy Fleming; Best Stock Car, Stacy and Matthew Boardman; Best Custom Car, G.B. Rice; Best Interior, Jimmie Jones; Best Paint, Clem Wright; Best Engine, Jamie Prince; Best Race Car, Alan Brown; Longest Traveled, Lynn Hendrix, Azle, Texas; Best Under Carriage, Clark and Nolan Rice; Best 4 x 4, Kirk Snead; Best Low Rider, Everett Yates.
