Fulton Co. FFA shines at Murray State Field Day

Fulton County High School FFA members recently competed at Murray State University’s Field Day which included participants from across Kentucky as well as other states.

Overall Results included Fulton County students placing 13th place (11th in Kentucky) out of 73 teams.

FCHS, in the category for Nursery, earned 5th place (4th in Kentucky). This team consisted of Hannah Murphy, Diamond Mitchell, Emry Ellingburg, and Kylee Harrison.

For Floriculture, the FCHS team placed 27th, (20th in Kentucky) This team consisted of Cara Capps, Abryona Tucker, Taylor Lane, and Alaina Sheppard.

In Livestock, the Fulton County team earned 15th place (9th in Kentucky) .This team consisted of Schaeffer Sipes, Emmarie Cermak, LaBreah Crumble, and Lee Uzzle.

In the category for Poultry, FCHS earned 9th place (4th in Kentucky). This team consisted of Fairyn Thomas, Jackson Major, Emmie Wheeler, and Anastasia Booker.

For Tobacco, the Fulton County students came in 10th place.This team consisted of Josiah Waltmon, Connor O’Malley, Ben Gilkey, and Collin DeHart.

For Vet Science, Fulton County ranked in 28th place (23rd in Kentucky). This team consisted of Gabby Kinney, Amber Hendrix, and Makalyn Cranick.

In Seed ID, FCHS student Hannah Varden earned 12th place (9th in Kentucky).

For Tool ID, FCHS stuent Waylon Brunswick earned 24th place (17th in Kentucky).

Fulton County student Austyn Hill, in the category for Weed ID, tied for 9th place.
