Season tickets are sold out for the 2023 Fulton Railroaders' OVL League season, but there are still seats available for a great night of baseball at Lohaus Field in Fulton.

General admission tickets at the gate are $6 per person, and a large crowd is anticipated for the June 2 home opener for this year's team. Game time is 6:30 p.m.

Former Fulton Railroaders Coach and first year owner Scott Guymon and his wife, Tammy Guymon are excited to get the season underway.

The Guymons have been joined by their Sales and Marketing staff member, Scott Wells and Food and Beverage Manager, Brook Stover, who will oversee the concessions.

The new Coach for the Railroaders will be Hayden Tapper, from Nesbitt, Miss. and he will be joined by Brad Webber, as Pitching Coach.

UTM student Patrick O'Donnell will serve as the Grounds Keeper, on a summer internship, and Kevin Estes, father of former Railroader Parker Estes, will be the P.A. Announcer for home games.

The Guymons have been appreciative of the support so far from the Twin Cities, including the provision of housing for the team members.

"This first year has been a learning experience for us. We have appreciated all the help in getting up and started, including upgrades to the facilities. We do have a new starting time for all home games now, at 6:30 p.m. We have also obtained our beer license and will have it available for sale, in a separate area away from our concessions stand," Scott Guymon said, in an interview last week.

Outfield Deck rental is still an option for gatherings at each home game, for $300 per game, or, if the renter opts to feed the entire team after the game, there is no charge. Those interested in reserving and renting the Outfield Deck may contact Guymon at 731-267-5828.

Sponsorships are still being accepted, for signage on Lohaus Field fencing, and those who have sponsored in the past may contact Guymon for renewals and pricing. Sponsors will also be recognized throughout the games.

Team members will arrive on Memorial Day and be present for a 4 p.m. team meeting.

The Railroaders' team members and staff will facilitate a one-day fundamental baseball camp for area youth, this year, set for June 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Railroaders' home field, Lohaus Field, also known as "The Yard."

Participants for the camp should bring their own glove. The cost is $35 per participant.

In October of 2010, the Ohio Valley League was formed with four teams. The four initial teams in the Ohio Valley League were the Marion Bobcats (established in 2008), Owensboro Oilers (established in 2006), Fulton Railroaders (established in 2004), and the Tradewater Pirates (established in 1999 as semi-pro team). The Ohio Valley League is now comprised of 10 teams spanning across Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

The initial four teams of the Ohio Valley League left the historic KIT League after the end of the 2010 season to form their own summer collegiate baseball league. Each of the teams is a throwback to the original Kitty League. After two years of operation, the Ohio Valley League added the Hoptown Hoppers, another throwback team from the original Kitty League.

Today, the Ohio Valley League uses National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and guidelines except for the use of wooden bats.

The Ohio Valley League is also divided into two divisions: North and South.

The North Division consists of Dubois County, Louisville, Owensboro, Henderson, Madisonville, and Muhlenberg.

The South Division consists of Franklin, Full Count, Hoptown, Fulton, and Paducah.

In 2022, the league schedule will incorporate 40 games for each team: 20 at home and 20 away. The league also expects to add more teams in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana for the incoming years.
