Lady Red Devils return 10 of 11 players for ‘23-’24
It could be said there is strength in numbers, but in the case of the 2023-2024 South Fulton High School Lady Red Devils, the strength in numbers could refer to the jersey numbers of the 10 returning players on the 11 member roster.
Head Coach Curt Lee, marking his 29th year at South Fulton Middle/High School, and his 20th as Head Coach, will not look far to determine who will step in to the team’s leadership role.
“This year, I have five seniors, and they will all take on that leadership role,” he said.
Coming off a 22-8 2022-2023 season, Coach Lee said seven girls will rotate through the starting positions, dependent on the size of the opposing team.
“Our strength is returning so many players that have played for the last three to four years together. We hope to get some minutes from some sophomores early in the season, as well,” he said.
The District is strong this year, with Greenfield returning all of their players from the last season.
“Rebounding is going to have to be a focus for us this year,” Coach Lee said, adding the team goal will be to win the District.
“Really, our strength is wisdom, which comes from that experience. As far as our challenge, probably size could be a factor,” he said.
