Pilots season ends at Region

The Fulton County Pilots had their basketball season come to an end Monday night, with an opening round 73-58 loss to Murray High in the First Region Tournament.

The Pilots earned a spot in the region tournament by finishing runner-up in the First District Tournament.

Murray High jumped out to a 17-point first quarter lead, and never looked back in the 15-point win over Fulton County.

The inside play of RaVicheal Strickland and three-point shooting of Hunter Utley, kept the Pilots fighting from behind all of the game.

Strickland scored 27 points in the game, while Utley connected on five three-points shots.

The Pilots trailed by 22-points with 4:37 on the clock in the second quarter, but mounted a 15-4 run that cut the halftime advantage to 36-25.

In the second half, the Tigers took control by outscoring Fulton County 20-7 in the third quarter.

The biggest lead of the night for the Tigers came with :45 to play in the third quarter at 56-32.

Kahari Miller led the scoring for the Pilots with 20 points, followed George Scott 16, Caleb Kimble 14, Camden Aldridge 3, Jerome Warren 3 and Armani Yandal 2.

Fulton County ended their season with a record of 15-14.

The Pilots advanced to the First District championship with the 30-point win over the Bulldogs.

Eight players for Fulton County entered the scoring column, with George Scott and Caleb Kimble leading the way with 13-points each.

Camden Aldridge had 12 points and 17 rebounds, followed by Kahari Miller 8, Hayden Murphy 6, Armani Yandal 6, Jerome Warren 5 and DiAvian Bradley 2.

Cameron Madding led the Bulldogs with 13 points, followed by Drew Malray 9, Kire Tribble 5, Amire Hobbs 4, Ladarius Cobb 3 and Rajon Hollowell 1.

Fulton City ends their year with a record of 7-23.

Fulton County trailed by 17 points in the game, but a late rally could not secure the First District championship.

Reese Anderson scored 26 points for the Comets, with Trey Wilson adding 13.

The win gave Carlisle County the First District Championship and improved their record to 18-13 on the year.
