Shakespearean Workshop

“En garde!” is a rare phrase at Fulton High School, but it was heard frequently during a stage combat workshop taught by professional theatre company Kentucky Shakespeare Sept. 25. Stephanie Fulcher’s sophomore English class learned how to advance, block, and attack sword-wielding opponents during the training. Students gained an appreciation for the stage work required for Shakespearean productions and learned several things about William Shakespeare himself. The lesson was taught by Kentucky Shakespeare’s Director of Education Kyle Ware and arranged by The Family Connection, Fulton Independent’s family resource / youth services center. (Photo submitted)
