Invitation extended to public for Thanksgiving

This year’s Twin Cities Community Thanksgiving Meal will be held at Fulton’s First United Methodist Church, at the corner of Eddings and Carr Streets, with those planning to attend asked to use the Eddings Street door for entry.

The public is invited to come to the church fellowship hall for dining from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and enjoy a menu to include turkey, dressing, traditional sides, desserts and drinks, with music featured throughout the meal.

Those who are unable to come to the church facility may request a delivery by calling 270-472-3514.

According to Ginger Bard, one of the event organizers, volunteers are still needed that day to prepare delivery meals, beginning at 10 a.m., drivers to delivery meals and assistance in the pie room beginning at 9:30 a.m. Those interested in driving for deliveries are asked to contact the church office at 270-472-3514 to confirm assignments.

To date, a number of churches and church members have assisted in providing food items and food preparation, as well as monetary donations, including First Methodist Church, Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Edward Catholic Church, First Baptist Church, Church of the Nazarene, all of Fulton, and Walnut Grove Church, South Fulton Baptist Church and Brooks Chapel, all of South Fulton.
