HICKMAN COUNTY ELEMENTARY FEBRUARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Valentine’s Day weekend convinced Hickman County Elementary School Principal Richard Todd to show some love to more of his school’s best students. Todd placed signs in the yards of seven Student of the Month recipients and their families Feb. 17, as he and his staff named its HCES Students of the Month for February. Students honored this month include, front row, left to right, Autumn Rudolph, kindergarten; Jonah Duke, second grade; Aiden Becker, third grade; Whitley McCuiston, first grade; back row, Kylie Meshew, fourth grade; Gracie Morris, sixth grade; and Lillie Easley, fifth grade. Students are chosen monthly by the principal based on grades, attendance, behavior, citizenship, adherence to the Falcons Fly character traits, how the student interacts with his or her peers, and how the student interacts with HCES staff. The Students of the Month signs are placed in the yards of the students and their families in the middle of each month, while the family is given a personalized letter written by Todd as to why their child was chosen. Todd or other staff members then pick up the signs about a month later to place in the yards of the new students who are selected. (Photo submitted)
