GRATITUDE, GIFTING FROM GOVERNOR AND COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION – A group of approximately 60 Obion County teachers and staff gathered at Obion County Central High School Monday morning, for a visit from Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and Tennessee’s Commissioner of Education, Dr. Penny Schwinn. The pair spoke to the educators, extending their appreciation to them for “leaning in” to the unprecedented conditions surrounding the start up of the 2020-2021 school year, and delivered the first of 80,000+ classroom safety boxes, to be distributed throughout the state. Obion County’s Director of Schools Tim Watkins introduced Gov. Lee and Commissioner Schwinn. (Photos by Benita Fuzzell.)
