Tickets available for DPA Gala

Tickets for the 2022 Robert E. and Jenny D. Discovery Awards Gala and Fundraiser are now available to purchase. The Discover Award winners are: Anita Kay Archer, Jackson, Tenn.; Lt. Gen. John “Glad” Castellaw (Ret.), Crockett Mills, Tenn.; Dr. Ron Kirkland, Jackson, Tenn.; and Jerry Reese, Tiptonville, Tenn.

The gala and fundraiser will be held on Sat., March 5, 2022 with cocktails at 6 p.m. and an awards dinner at 7 p.m

Horbelt is the co-anchor of WPSD Local 6 at 5, 6 and 10 alongside Todd Faulkner. Jennifer grew up in Houston, Texas.

After a move to Memphis in high school, she decided to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM). she began her career at WPSD while still a student at UT Martin, working her way from intern, to reporter, to evening anchor.

She covered a range of stories, from the murder trials and sentencings in the Jessica Currin murder case to Winter Storm ’09.

In 2011, Jennifer took an opportunity to anchor and report in Colorado Springs at NBC affiliate KOAA News 5.

After three years in Colorado, Jennifer and her new husband decided the time was right to return to the area she considers home. She’s been back with WPSD since 2014

Cocktail entertainment will be provided by Emmy-nominated singer, multi-instrumentalist and song writer Terry Mike Jeffrey. Jeffrey is an Emmy-nominated singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who has performed all over the world.

A popular performer in Tennessee, he has been featured in 5 concerts with the Nashville Symphony, and 17 concerts fronting the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

He also sings and performs shows regularly at the Badgett Playhouse Theater in Grand Rivers, Ky.

He has performed live with Jewel, Travis Tritt, Jerry Lee Lewis and others.

Dinner entertainment will be provided by “The Art Edmaiston 4tet.” Art Edmaiston began playing the saxophone at age 11 in Troy, Tenn. and later moved to Memphis.

Being a reliable soloist and flexible section player has carried Edmaiston around the world providing opportunities to perform, record and jam with a wide variety of well-known musicians, producers and music legends. “The Art Edmaiston 4tet” features Logan Hanna on guitar, Neal Bowen on bass, Tom Lonardo on drums and Art Edmaiston on saxophone.

He has preformed with Gregg Allman, the Dobbie Brothers, Justin Timberlake and others.
