Lady Devils triumph at home vs. Dresden

GREENFIELD 72, SFHS 69

The SFHS Lady Devils played a hard fought five quarters in OT against Greenfield's Lady Jackets Jan. 13, but came up 3 points shy of a win, 72-69.

The Lady Devils outscored Greenfield 17-10 in the first quarter of regulation, but Greenfield came back in the second and third quarters, 14-11 over SFHS and 25-14 over the Lady Devils, respectively, to end the third quarter with a score of 49-42 Greenfield lead.

South Fulton pumped in 21 fourth-quarter points to Greenfield's 14, resulting in a 63-63 tie and an extra quarter of play.

A 9-6 OT period, in favor of the Lady Jackets sealed the win, 72-69, Greenfield.

Maddie Gray scored 32 points for SFHS, succeeding on 8 of 11 trips to the line and sinking 12 field goals.

Abbi McFarland had 11 points for the Lady Devils, 6 of those coming from two three-point buckets, plus a 2-point goal and hitting 3 of 6 free throw attempts.

Lady Devil Katie Barclay had 9 points, connecting on one goal from three-point range and added in three 2-point goals from the field.

Aubree Gore had 7 points for South Fulton, Addysen Wilson scored 6, going 2 for 2 at the line, and Anna Gore had 4 points.

Greenfield's EmmaGrace Alford accounted for 47 points in the game.

SFHS 66, DRESDEN 56

South Fulton High School's Lady Devils beat Dresden's Lady Lions in a home court game Jan. 10, 66-56.

Dresden had a 1 point lead going into the second quarter, 17-16, but that was the only time for the night, as South Fulton scored 14 second quarter points to Dresden's 8, giving the Lady Devils a 30-25 lead at the halfway mark.

South Fulton stayed on top in the third, pulling off 11 points to the Lady Lions' 10, pumping in 25 points in the final stanza, to record the 66-56 game in the win column.

Lady Devil Maddie Gray had 17 points with three 2-point goals from the field and successes on 11 of 13 free throws.

South Fulton's Anna Gore and Aubree Gore scored 15 and 12 points, respectively, with Anna hitting two 2-pointers and three goals from 3-point range, as well as two out of two shots at the line. Aubree Gore hit two 2-s and added a three-point basket plus banked 5 points on her seven trips to the line.

Abbi McFarland and Katie Barclay had 10 points a piece in the game, Barclay's courtesy of two 2-point baskets and two 3-point buckets, and McFarland's two 2's and 6 deposits at the line. Jennefer Wallace had 2 points for the Lady Devils.

Dresden's Paisley Pittman had 20 points and Lacy Curry, 16 in the Lady Lions' loss.
