SFMS Lady Red Devils softball off to 2-0 start

The South Fulton Middle School Lady Red Devils opened the 2025 softball season with wins over the Ridgemont Mustangs Mon., Aug. 11 and Bradford Lady Red Devils Tues., Aug. 5.

The Lady Red Devils managed only three hits, but scored 18 runs thanks in part to 18 walks. 
Also helping the Lady Red Devil were 10 stolen bases, led by three by Lilly Coble, two stolen bases each for Vaeda Kelly, Aveyanna Johnson, and Oliva Morehead, and one stolen base for Emma Hamrick.
The Lady Red Devils also tallied eight RBIs, led by Darden with two. Hamrick, Jentry Burke, Johnson, Aniston Allen and Paisley Allen each had one RBI.
Johnson, Darden, and Paisley Allen each had one hit.
Darden started on the mound for the Lady Red Devils, throwing 59 pitches, with 35 of them being strikes. She struck out three batters.
She was relieved by Morehead, who threw 11 pitches, with four of those being strikes, and striking out one batter.

The South Fulton Lady Red Devils tallied 10 hits and 15 RBIs in 28 at-bats, with Jentry Burke having a team-high three hits, followed by Oliva Morehead, Emma Hamrick and Lilly Coble each with two hits, and Brooklynn Darden with one hit. Hamrick hit for a triple.
Burke and Coble each had four RBIs, followed by Hamrick with three RBIs, and Morehead, Darden and Aniston Allen with one RBI each.
Darden started on the mound for the South Fulton Lady Red Devils, throwing 3 1/3 innings, throwing 94 total pitches and 49 strikes. She struck out six total batters. Burke relieved her on the mound, throwing 41 total pitches, with 20 of those being strikes. She struck out three batters.
