Upon hearing the news that a South Fulton Elementary School student and his father were taking up temporary residence at Target House 2 in Memphis, Tenn., following the student’s leukemia diagnosis and treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the SFES Beta Club has coordinated a drive to collect items needed by families lodged at the facility.

According to Christa Hankins, a teacher at South Fulton Elementary, Jeffrey Sensing and his father, Jeff Sensing are currently staying at Target House 2, just a few miles from St. Jude.

Cards or other items may be forwarded directly to Jeffrey, in care of Jeffrey Sensing, Target House 2, Room 218, Memphis, Tenn. 38104. Some of the young patient’s favorites include ginger ale, tootsie rolls, hot chocolate and lego sets.

A donation collection is now underway through Sept. 15, for items to be furnished to the Target House 2, for families who stay there while undergoing treatment at St. Jude for longer than 90 days.

In addition to South Fulton Elementary School, other locations where items may be taken, for collection and transportation to Memphis, include South Fulton Middle/High School, Ridgemont Elementary School, Lake Road Elementary School and Obion County Central High School

Those interested in assisting with this collection may bring items such as canned vegetables and fruits, chicken broth, canned chicken breast, canned tuna in water, canola cooking oil, elbow pasta, spaghetti noodles and sauce, creamy peanut butter, Ramen noodles, Maruchan Beef and Maruchan chicken, band aids, dental floss, hand sanitizer, aluminum foil, Kleenex, paper towels, plastic wrap, coffee-ground breakfast blend and apple Juice boxes.
