Former FCDC worker found ‘Not Guilty’

A former jail investigator at the Fulton County Detention Center in Hickman was found Not Guilty by a jury in Fulton County Circuit Court Nov. 25.

According to the court docket provided to The Current by the Fulton County Circuit Clerk’s Office, in case CI 19-CR-00074, Commonwealth vs. Daniel Thomas, the jury returned a finding of not guilty; return bond to surety, regarding the wanton endangerment, 1st degree charge.

Thomas was originally indicted by Fulton County Grand Jury, on a charge of wanton endangerment, relating to the death investigation by Kentucky State Police, regarding FCDC inmate Kyle Combs, who overdosed Oct. 26, 2016.

Combs was discovered in his FCDC cell in a semi-conscious state, transported to Baptist Hospital in Union City, Tenn. and there, was pronounced dead by hospital staff.
