Good Samaritan updates X-ray machine
Good Samaritan Health and Wellness Center in South Fulton has transitioned from film screen x-rays to digital x-ray, as a result of grants and contributions to the facility, which provides health care services to the working uninsured.
The new machine’s installation was completed last week, and will allow the staff to provide routine x-rays of extremities, for patients at the center, which may then be sent to a doctor or heath care facility by loading the images onto a cd or flash drive.
The machine used previously by Good Samaritan had been on site since the opening in 2013.
Lori Hutchins, with Southern Xray was on hand Aug. 27, to provide instruction on the machine’s operation to X-ray Technician Jennifer Pierce, and Clinic Manager Ann Elliott.
“We have been gifted with sizable grants, including a large grant from the Catholic Diocese of Owensboro. We had others who contributed, too and also fundraisers,” Elliott said.
The hours of operation for the Good Samaritan Health and Wellness Center, staffed with health care professionals who volunteer services, are Tuedays, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesdays, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
The telephone number is 731-479-2112.
