MS Red Devils claim win vs. Ballard

South Fulton Middle School’s Red Devil football team added to their win column Aug. 31 with a 36-8 triumph over Ballard County.
South Fulton took an 8-0 lead in first quarter action with Red Devil Keshun Frame succeeding on a 15 yard run into the endzone and team mate Brady Parnell running in for 2.
Parnell found the endzone in the second quarter from 4 yards out for 6 points, but the attempt for the two point conversion was no good. South Fulton’s next second quarter score came from Bentley Allen on an 8 yard run-in, and Parnell made good on the two-point conversion.
Halftime, the Red Devils held on to a 22-0 lead.
Parnell ran in 2 yards for his touchdown in the third quarter, with the 2-point conversion no good, and fourth quarter action saw Red Devil Jamison Barclay score a TD on a 10-yard run, with QB Grant Joyner taking the ball in for 2.
In rushing, Frame mounted 165 yards in 13 carries, Parnell had 140 yards in 10; Ian Lawrence accounted for 21 yards in 3 carries; Bentley Allen, 15 yards in two carries; and Barclay, 8 yards in two carries.
In passing, Joyner was good or 20 yards, connecting on three of eight attempts, hitting Frame once, for 12, Parnell once for 6 and Barclay, once of 2.
Red Devil Parker Dowdy led the team in tackles with 7, followed by Austin Bradley with 4 and Jocquan Eaton with 3.
The SFMS Red Devils face off against Greenfield Yellowjackets Sept. 7 with a home game set for 6:30 p.m. at South Fulton’s field.
